Submission Guidelines
The Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion seeks articles that address timely and relevant legal topics of state, national, or international significance. Contributions are encouraged reflecting any perspective on the interaction between law and religion. If you would like to submit a manuscript for consideration, please review the following information.
Manuscripts may be submitted through the Scholastica Law Review Submission Center or by emailing the Articles Editor. Alternatively, authors may email a copy of their submission to the Lead Articles Editor.
Authors Should Include
- The manuscript
- A brief abstract or description of the article
- A short statement of interest in publishing with Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion
- optional, but encouraged
- Your Curriculum Vitae and current contact information.
Citation Format
- Legal scholarship should follow the latest version of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
- Interdisciplinary scholarship must use Chicago Manual of Style.
- The Journal’s editorial team will confirm citations during the editing process.
General Formatting Guidelines
- Font: Century Schoolbook
- Main text: 12-point
- Footnotes: 10-point
- Single-spaced text and footnotes.
- Margins: 1″ top, 2″ sides, 1.75″ bottom
- Headings should generally follow:

(i) Sub-subsection
Additional Requirements
- Hyperlinks should be removed prior to publication.
- Footnotes should not split across pages.
- Figures should be centered relative to margins.
